# Helicord Setup

### 1.Inviting Helicord

### 2. Permissions

Helicord requires basic permissions to function properly:

* **View Channel**
* **Send Messages**

Without these permissions in your desired channels, Helicord will not work as expected.

### 3. Configuring Your Server

* Ensure that **you** have administrative permissions on the server. Without this, you cannot configure the bot.
* You need to register your Discord account with Helicord by sending the bot a **DM** with the message `start`. Helicord will prompt you if registration is needed.
* Once registered, in any channel where Helicord has access, you can configure it by using the **`/configure`** command. This command will allow you to set a channel for mission drops or designate a channel to be ignored for bot commands.

### 4. Configuring Channels

* Use the `/configure action:Designate this channel for missions` command to set a channel for mission drops.
* To prevent Helicord from listening in specific channels, use `/configure action:Ignore/Unignore commands on this channel`.

### 5. Missions

* **Frequency:** Missions will spawn in the designated channel every **10 minutes**.
* **Activation:** Mission spawns are triggered by activity in the server. Ensure members are actively sending messages to initiate mission drops after each cooldown period.
* Members can also use the `/scout` command to trigger 3 new mission options, with a 30-minute cooldown between uses.
